This is a great week to try a new way to get pregnant. Well, not exactly. Fertile Yoga and Support Groups geared to fertility and infertility won't get you pregnant. Well, that's not exactly true either.
Well then, what is true?
We Know That TTC Can Be Stressful
One thing that we do know about the connection between trying to conceive(TTC) and stress is that frequently, the longer it takes to become pregnant, the more stress we feel. There's no good evidence the other way around, by the way. While stress doesn't play a positive part in becoming pregnant, neither does it act as definitively as say, birth control. Many women have felt lots of stress and become pregnant and vice versa.
We Know That Relieving Stress Can Be Helpful
One other thing that we do know is that reducing the stress we feel as we are trying to conceive enhances our lives. Makes it easier to think clearly. Lessening stress, even for a short time, can be calming and relaxing. Alleviating stress can make fertility treatment cycles feel less and easier to understand.
Simply put, getting out from under the weight of worry, upset, resentment and sadness, even for a short while, can help you live your life more fully while you are TTC. Alleviating those feelings, and those of isolation as well, can soothe all sorts of physiological responses, including affecting your pulse rate and hormone levels.
