Acupuncture for Infertility Success StoriesI could say lots of wonderful things about the RMACT fertility acupuncturists. All three of them have been doing work with infertility patients for years and see it as a calling as much as a profession. They are dedicated, professional, compassionate and supportive. Instead of my going on and on about them though, I asked our Ladies Night In Online Group (if you are interested in joining our hidden Facebook pages, please let me know) what they would like to share about acupuncture for infertility. Answers came flooding in. Here are just a few testimonials, in former patients own words. I kept my editing hands off of this! After reading them? Make an appointment. - Lisa Rosenthal

Acupuncture for Infertility Success Stories

I'm finding it hard to explain just how positive my experience has been. I truly feel like my words do not do it justice. I've been seeing Elaine almost weekly since May, after a failed transfer. At that time my mood was awful and I wasn't taking care of myself in any way, the least of all food. My A1C was borderline at 5.7 and I was told by multiple doctors the only way to drop it would be taking Metformin, which I was violently opposed to. I coupled acupuncture with seeing the RMACT nutritionist (Carolyn Gundell, MS) and by July my A1C was 5.0. I could tell you every way acupuncture has helped me, but this would be a novel, so instead I'll name a few. Acupuncture helped my overall mood and well-being, helped lower my blood sugar, helped me sleep well for the first time in my life, stopped my hormonal headaches, stopped chronic bladder pain (UTI symptoms), and helped clear my sinuses when I got sick. The best benefit of acupuncture? Every IVF cycle I've done over the past two years yielded 4 eggs retrieved, and one final embryo. EXCEPT the one IVF cycle I did after establishing my acupuncture routine - that one resulted in eight eggs retrieved. DOUBLE any other cycle. I cannot say enough about Elaine Malin- she is one of the most kind, gentle, generous people I've ever met. I look forward to my appointments to talk with her, just as much as I look forward to the treatment itself. - S.R.

Acupuncture for InfertilityI have had sessions with Amy and with Elaine; both jumped in when my regular acupuncturist who I see in Fairfield was not available. Amy: love the combination of being science-driven but patient focused and very empathetic/caring. She did my peri-transfer acupuncture (and we all know how well that transfer went). Elaine: wonderful warm empathetic woman. Typically uses less needles than Amy, and is perhaps a little less "hands on"; once the needles are in, she lets them do their work, which does not bother me; she has helped me through much of the morning sickness in early pregnancy. I really benefited from it. She also went out of her way to accommodate me. In summary: nothing but good things to say about either. For me, they have both been equally great and a true blessing on my journey. - A.G.

I saw Elaine Malin for almost a year and it was the best thing ever. I LOVED her because she was professional but caring, warm and kind. I always looked forward to seeing her. She saw my husband too and had his work schedule not been so crazy he would've continued seeing her. I even told my best friend at work about Elaine and she started seeing her and now she's going to RMACT. So basically I'm a fan of Elaine I also saw Amy for laser acupuncture right before my transfer and I LOVED her too! - J.B.

I worked with both RMACT acupuncturists prior to and after each embryo transfer. At the time I thought it was kind of expensive, but now that we have a little one no cost was too high. - J.E.

Here is my Acupuncture experience. I have seen both Amy and Elaine. I loved Amy. It was my first experience with Acupuncture and she was amazing. Once she left Danbury I went to Elaine. At first I wasn't crazy about her but I quickly realized that she was just different than Amy. I found that I didn't like her needles as much as they were different (larger) than Amy's but I got used to them and it was a great experience. I did both standard and laser and would highly recommend them both to anyone.

I definitely miss seeing all of you at Ladies Night In, but am happy that my journey has led me to not be in the group meetings anymore. I had the pleasure of receiving laser acupuncture before and after my Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) with Amy. I found her to be gentle, kind and a wonderful source of knowledge and comfort. She made my whole body relax, shared tips and personal experiences, let me take everything at my own pace and reassured me every step of the way. Although I wish that I could have afforded to see her on a frequent basis, I felt that the cost was reasonable for the service provided and I would have definitely continued with treatments if I had needed another transfer. We were blessed and fortunate to only have the 1 FET and I guess no one can say with absolute certainty that it was the reason for success, but I attribute part of the success on this powerful and ancient medicine. Please let me know if you need any other information about my experiences. I'd be happy to share anything with you since you've all taken such great care of me during such a hard and difficult time in my life. B.G.

I used Acupuncture for both my transfers. Both were amazing experiences. Having the acupuncture relaxed me and centered me for the transfers. I highly recommend this to anyone in treatment. It was laser acupuncture but honestly the needles wouldn't have bothered me after all the other needles I've had to use. Each session lasted 30 minutes. I only went the day of each transfer. It was before and after the transfer. M.K.
