Healing Fertility Loss - Why I'm Walking with March of Dimes
In Danbury, CT on Saturday, May 4, 2013, and Fairfield, CT on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
Thank you to Tally Jacobs who gives her whole heart to this effort, Robin Mangieri and the doctors at RMACT, Mark Leondires, Spencer Richlin, Joshua Hurwitz, Cynthia Murdock and Shaun Williams, for supporting this walk and effort. Thank you to our wonderful RMACT team who are showing up on Saturday and Sunday to walk. Your acknowledgement of the importance of healthy pregnancies, healthy babies, healthy moms and healthy families is inspiring.
We've had some significant pregnancy losses in our practice lately. Painful, scary, emotionally devastating losses. Our patients, my Fertile Yoga students, have suffered and we have along with you. When you mourn, we mourn. We offer you our empathy and sympathy and our love.
It’s seems exquisite timing that the walks are this weekend. A way to grieve the losses that we have been experiencing. To acknowledge just how much it hurts to lose a much wanted pregnancy or have complications that can rip your heart out. These walks give us something to do, something productive and healthy and sane and even, healing.
We get out. We notice the world around us. We move our beautiful, healthy bodies. We feel the temperature of the air on our skin. We breathe in deeply and exhale completely. We walk and experience our movement and strength.
We do it to support babies, moms, dads and families. We donate the time and the money to make changes, to have significant research developed to prevent some of the tragic losses in the future.
We can make a difference this weekend. We can begin to heal. Please come join us.
If you’re not already inspired, I know that I will be dedicating my walk to several of my Fertile Yoga students who have experienced these types of losses. They have inspired me. You know who you are. You are the ones who come back. Who keep showing up. Who smile and cry at precisely the same time. Who retain your loving spirit and hearts.
I dedicate this walk to you. To K and P, especially this year, to you both.
With love, I will walk for you.
